Charles W. Nicholson Jr.
Charles W. “Chuck” Nicholson, Jr. serves as president and chief executive officer of Community Bank. He is responsible for bank operations for offices located in Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, and Florida, which employ more than 850 staff-owners. Nicholson is a member of the Board of Directors for both Community Bancshares of Mississippi, Inc. and its subsidiary Community Bank of Mississippi.
A Pascagoula native, Nicholson earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Mississippi in 1981. He went on to graduate from The Graduate School of Banking at LSU in 1988, and also holds designations from the American Institution of Banking.
Nicholson serves the Mississippi Bankers Association as Chairman of the MissBankPAC Committee. Nicholson also serves on the Methodist Children’s Homes of Mississippi Board of Directors, CIE Advisory Board and the University of Mississippi Foundation Board. He is the former chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Mississippi School of Banking at The University of Mississippi, a former member of the Board of Governors for the Mississippi Economic Council, as well as the American Bankers Association‘s Government Relations Committee. Nicholson and his family are members of Saint Mark’s United Methodist Church, where he previously served on the finance committee, the administrative council, and as the chairman of the staff parish committee.
Nicholson was awarded the Top CEO award by the Mississippi Business Journal in 2015, Small Business Leadership Award by the East Mississippi Business Journal in 2003, the Silver Beaver Award from the Choctaw Council of the Boy Scouts of America in 2004, and the Community Bank Award of Excellence in 2004, the bank’s highest honor.
Nicholson has been married to Lisa Ikerd Nicholson for almost 40 years. They have two daughters, Sara Michelle Ruffin and Kristin Hawley, and they are proud grandparents to Bailey, Nicholas, and Reese Bogosian as well as Grayson, Hampton, and Peyton Hawley.
