Marketing Specialist

Angelica Owens is a marketing strategist and entrepreneur currently serving as the Marketing Specialist and Director of External Relations for the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) at the University of Mississippi. In this role, she leads the center’s external marketing and communications strategy, overseeing digital content, storytelling initiatives, and promotional campaigns for the Legacy Leadership Program.

With more than six years of experience in marketing, communications, and media, Angelica specializes in strategic storytelling, digital engagement, and brand development. She also serves as an online instructor at the University of Mississippi, teaching Social Influencing in Sports, where she guides students through social media strategy, personal branding, and NIL entrepreneurship within the sports industry.

A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Angelica’s passion for storytelling began early. By age 18, she had self-published two books focused on helping teenagers and parents navigate communication and real-life challenges. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism from Rust College and a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications from the University of Mississippi.
