CIE Students Now Have 2 New Scholarships

Ole Miss CIE and entrepreneurship students will now have access to two new scholarships thanks to an alumnus of the university.

Mac Haik, a successful entrepreneur, Ole Miss alumnus, and owner of Mac Haik Enterprises, funded two new scholarships for the Ole Miss Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Haik donated a total of $30,000 to the Ole Miss Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. This donation allows the center to offer two new scholarships. The Sunny Sue Haik Scholarship and the Francis Haik Jordan Scholarship awards are available to entrepreneurship students beginning in the Fall 2017 semester.

“I think it is great that Ole Miss is now providing entrepreneurial classes and leadership for their, so-inclined, students,” explained Haik. “It will provide wonderful opportunities for the students and University, as well as the entire state of Mississippi.”

Qualifying students will submit applications for the scholarship through the CIE once they are open in the fall semester.

Mac Haik graduated from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) with a B.B.A. Degree in Marketing and Sales Management while also completing work towards a Master’s Degree in Marketing. Mr. Haik was co-captain for the Ole Miss football team, an All-American Football Player, and an Academic All-American twice, all while completing his undergraduate course work. He was selected as the first draft choice of the then NFL Houston Oilers, and has been inducted into the University of Mississippi Athletic Hall of Fame. Mr. Haik established Mac Haik Enterprises (MHE) shortly after retiring from professional football. Mac Haik Enterprises is a Houston-based investment company which includes a full-service commercial real estate affiliate.
