Application Deadline for Fall CIE Competitions Arrives
OXFORD, Miss. – The final day to register for each of the Ole Miss Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship fall competitions has arrived, as Monday October 17, 2022 is the application deadline for both the “Servin’ the South” Business Model Competition and the Landshark Tank Pitch Competition. Each event can be applied to with a one-minute video presenting a business plan by 11:59 p.m. on the 17th.
The Business Model Competition is open to any college student in the country, with the in-person event taking place on November 10, 2022 at the Jackson Avenue Center. Following the minute-long video submission to enter, all participants will be asked to then submit a five-minute video presentation by November 1, 2022. Following a review of the second video submission and Q&A session, six teams will be selected for the finals, with a final panel of judges deciding the winner of the first-place prize of $10,000. Second place will receive $5,000, with the remaining four finalists each earning $1,000.
Prizes will also be handed out for the best visiting team at $2,500, the best utilization of technology of $4,000 for Ole Miss students only, and the best consumer facing business for Ole Miss students only. The top finish from an Ole Miss student or team will earn an automatic spot in the final round of the Gillespie Business Plan Competition in the spring.
Open to students of Ole Miss only, the Landshark Tank Pitch Competition can be entered using the same minute-long video. Cash prizes will be handed out to first place ($1,000), second place ($300), and third place ($200), with the winners being voted on by the public through social media channels.
